Mass Market Laptops for Gaming Have Arrived
Posted on 13 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: Universe Of Technology
Can you recall the era when laptops for gaming were not so affordable? They were small volume sellers and high profit generating items. They were the kind of laptop computer that everyone desired, however the cost didn’t fit in their budget. I believe you would say they were the best laptops around, at least power wise. Having mentioned that many of us probably didn’t buy laptops of this kind because of the cost. The outlook for gaming laptop computers is now seen by the big companies as a golden opportunity for them.
If mass manufactured, manufacturers can bring forth huge revenues on gaming notebooks. With such thin margins on other laptop computers its not a surprise they want to be involved. In addition they know they can persuade people to buy laptops like these better than small outfits. I believe littler system builders are very worried about this. The top notch technology will quickly make its path into the view of the everyday consumers. In addition we just appear to trust bigger companies more.
I reckon its unfair that as it comes with an established brand name they are automatically considered the best laptops. I still reckon that 2nd tier system builders will gain significant support from this. Most of the time the pre built systems are good performers however not fast enough and some buyers do not take well to that. These consumers have the technical knowledge and will decide which laptop computers are best. For a few purchasers specs and performance data are more important than aesthetics.
For the customer, this has numerous plus points. In the end the cost will drop further and more people will be able to purchase such advanced technology. I reckon even industry insiders will have a difficult time seeing where the market is going.Prices will possibly remain consistently high as there are always new laptops being released. Established manufacturers have involved themselves with the gaming laptops division so only time will tell what how this affects the market.
