Naveen Jain, chief executive officer and co-founder of information firm Intelius, has been receiving awards for his expertise in leadership and entrepreneurship. He was given the honor of winning the American Business Awards’ Best New Company, the Albert Einstein Technology Medal, the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, as well as the WSA Industry Achievement Award. Naveen Jain was also listed in Red Herring’s Top 20 Entrepreneurs and included in Information Week’s Six People Who Will Change the Net.
His standing is not only bound in the technology and information sectors of business; he also reaches out to people who are in need. Jain, the president of Intelius is likewise noted for his humanitarian efforts, assisting numerous organizations and causes that give concern to the youth, education, poverty and others.
A few of the numerous aid groups Naveen Jain has supported are Child Rights and You (CRY), the National Bureau of Asian Research, Bellevue Boys and Girls Club, Vedic Cultural Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Indian American Education Foundation. Jain’s company, Intelius, has funded around $170,000 to scholarships for engineering, computer science and business majors of the University of Washington.
Moreover, Naveen Jain also encourages and promotes the spirit of charity among his employees. Two programs were developed by the company to recognize its efforts in the field of community service. Employees’ donations to nonprofit groups of their choice are matched with monetary support that may go up to $250 annually. Apart from the financial support the company is funding, it is also promoting volunteer work for the workers by providing them with paid leaves every time they go volunteering.
Intelius was able to award about $210,000 to various associations in the past year. Due to its dedication to charity, the company was hailed as one of the top corporate philanthropists by the Puget Sound Business Journal.
